Week of February 14 - 18, 2022

During the morning announcements this month, we have been learning about various famous African Americans and their important contributions to the world.  To extend our learning, we have been doing the same thing in First Grade.  The students each selected a famous African American to research.  The students then researched and completed  biographies about their famous people.  To accompany the biographies, each student was also responsible for creating a 'Biography Bottle' of his/her famous person.

The results were amazing!  The children were each so proud to share their projects with the class.  The students were all so creative and put forth such effort.  We had visitors who kept stopping by to check out our biography bottles because they heard such wonderful things about them!  We can't wait to put them on display in the hallways!  Great job, First Graders!

*Next week, P.E. will be Wednesday and Friday (Days 3 and 5).

*Students in PreK, Kindergarten, and 7th Grade are collecting food and gently used clothing  for Murphy's Giving Market in Upper Darby.  Al donations will be collected until Wednesday, February 23, 2022.  See Happenings for more details.
