Week of May 30 - June 3, 2022

We have had a lot of fun in First Grade during the last full week of the school year!  It is hard to believe the year is almost over.  

On Thursday, we our day was full of excitement!  The morning started off with the Lower School field trip to Playhouse Lanes for a few games of bowling.  The students were so excited!  

After we returned from the field trip, we enjoyed a picnic lunch outside.  We found a nice shady spot to sit and enjoy each others' company.  We were blessed with perfect weather for our picnic.  We all had a special time getting to spend this time together talking and laughing at the fun we were having!

To close out our day, we made signs for HCA's "Clap Out" for the Eighth Graders as they left school for the last time before graduation.  The students cheered loud and proud for the graduates!  It was really a great end to a wonderful day!

Thank you for sharing your children with me this year!  They are really a great group!  This class will always have a special place in my heart.  I know they all have bright futures in front of them!  Thank you for all of your support, help, and kindness you have shown me this year.  Have a relaxing and safe summer!

Reminders!!!

*Field Day is Monday!  Please send your child to school wearing his/her gym uniform and sneakers.  Make sure to send your child to school with sunscreen, too!

*Lower School will be having a picnic lunch on Tuesday!  Please send your child to school with a small blanket or towel for him/her to use to sit on outside.  We are very excited for part 2 of our picnic this week!

*Last day of school is Wednesday!  Dismissal will be at noon. 

 

Week of May 23 - 27, 2022

This week, First Grade wrote letters to the friends we have made at Little Flower Manor this year.  The students thanked them for the "All About Me" posters the residents created for the class.  The students also let the residents know how special they feel their correspondence has been with the Little Flower Manor residents this year.  The students even told the residents all about the incoming First Graders next year!

First Grade really enjoyed getting to watch the intramural volleyball games.  But they had the most fun watching the 8th graders match up against the teachers.  Everyone had a great time and really showed their school spirit.  Unfortunately, this year the teachers lost.

Week of May 16 - 20, 2022

First Grade has been enjoying our last full month with each other.  The students have accomplished so much since September.  They have also grown so close to one another.  They are like a big family.  Just like a family, they may have days that aren't so sunny, but they always work things out.  It is so wonderful to see how they are always looking out for one another and are always there to lend a helping hand. It warms your heart to see how much the first graders really care about each other.  They are a fantastic group of students!
